Weekly Weather

Here is my entry for this week’s Weekly Weather: Sun Halos. I took these photos on my iPhone during a particularly gorgeous sunset on Lake Ontario.

The Overgrown Path

This is the path I most often took to make my way down to the waters of Lake Ontario while I was a student at SUNY Oswego. It around 250 feet from my dorm, probably less (which was not considered a “lakeside” dorm, by the way.) And it was one of my favorite places for four years.

Here is my entry for Sunday Trees – 292. This is a gorgeous tree on the shore of Lake Ontario right on the campus of SUNY Oswego.

Here is my entry for this week’s edition of Tuesdays of Texture: Week 23 of 2017. While this isn’t an ACTUAL ocean, it is a lake so massive that my little brother thought it WAS the ocean when we first visited SUNY Oswego in 2011 (He was 10 and had never seen a real ocean.) And honestly, I have been to the ocean, and I like Lake Ontario better.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Hot and /or Cold

Here’s my entry for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Hot and/or Cold. I chose two photos for this challenge that, in my eyes, combine the concepts of hot and cold. This is Lake Ontario in late spring, when the last of the snow banks are finally melting and SUNY Oswego students are rejoicing because [for the most part] they don’t have to worry about snow or whiteouts anymore until next winter, and the temperatures are a generous amount above zero for the first time since November. So, maybe think of Katy Perry’s, “Hot N Cold” when you think of Oswego. 😀

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: Random Rock

Here’s my stand-alone entry for this week’s edition of Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge. I love this photo, which is of an oddly placed cement block with a hole in the center on a path down to the shore of Lake Ontario.

Here is my entry for this week’s edition of Nancy Merrill’s A Photo a Week Challenge, themed Golden Hour. Although these were taken on my iPhone and not with my DSLR (so the quality isn’t as good) these are still some of my favorite photos of the sunsets I saw on Lake Ontario while at SUNY Oswego.

This is my entry for this week’s edition of The Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge – Evanescent. These photos are sentimental to me because they were taken during my last time at the lake to see one of the famous sunsets that SUNY Oswego students rave about. They carry even more value though, because I was there with one of my very best friends, who I had met my freshman year and who I am still friends with today (a year after graduation!)

Experimental work by Justine Taylor Photography

Scannography quickly became one of my favorite experimental photographic processes when I first learned how to use it. My favorite thing about scannography is the ability to combine photographs with objects that weren’t originally in them to create something beautiful.
